Stulz-Sickles Steel sells 12-14% Hadfield Grade Manganese steel under the trade name “Manganal” as well as Creusabro 4800 & 8000 throughout North America and the world. For 100 years, Stulz-Sickles Steel has provided quality wear-resistant products to the Foundry & Shot-Blast Industries, the Railroad Industry and the Quarry and Heavy Construction Industries.
Manganese steel is sold in rounds, flats, squares and special shapes under the brand name "Manganal".
High Manganese, known as “Manganal” is fully austenitic, quench annealed, nonmagnetic, work-hardening by shock or high impact pressure in service. The main characteristics are a superior wear resistance: Severe wear on the surface has a work-hardening effect on the austenitic structure of this steel. This, when combined with the level of carbon in accordance with the international standards, leads to an increase in hardness from 200 BHN (in as delivered plates) up to an in-service hardness of at least 600BHN.
The use of Titanium Carbides carbides gives the steel an increased wear resistance. It has been shown to have more resistance to abrasion, friction, fatigue and erosion. Creusabro ® is currently used in Quarries, Mining, Concrete and Cement industries, Steel Recycling, Asphalt Plants, Earthmoving, Dredging... It is suitable for all types of sliding or impact, abrasion, dry or wet media including high temperature abrasion.
